I recently found out the hard way that there is now a vaccine for HIV and even a cure for those exposed to HIV within the last 48 hours
There was a guy who Overdosed out the front of my house. I went outside and there was a woman who had stopped her car to do CPR on him well, this was going on for about 20 minutes when i remembered that i had noloxone in my cupboard which is a medication to save people who have over doesed on opiates. I prepared the needle and went outside, i then jabbed the guy (who was literally dead) in the arm when the woman started screaming, she was terrified at me which is understandable but it made me scared so i put the offending object in my pocket quickly and forgot about it due to the situation. The combination of her CPR and my injection saved the man who got up and got in his car and drove away, not knowing what tf happened. I then started to walk back inside when i noticed something in my pocket, it was sharp, yes it was the needle that i just jabbed into a heroin user. It pierced my finger deep.
Well i got to the doctors and within 6 hours, i had my pills. I had to take 2 pills every day for 28 days. I took them at the same time every day, not missing once. I got a test 6 weeks later and also 3 months later. I was clean and happy. But it was a stressful month, I did not have sexual relations, i did not put a band aid on my kids scratch or anything.
I was lucky. I also found out that it would be more dangerous if the guy was gay rather than a heroin user because there is 0.5% of IV user population with HIV compared to 30% of homosexuals.
So there is my story, so if you have been exposed, go to the doctors immediately.
I also found out that if you indulge in dangerous behaviours that put you at risk of catching HIV such as unprotected homosexual sex, it is best for you to take just 1 pill every day which is proven to prevent you from ever catching aids which is amazing. We now have the power to get rid of the virus alltogether in just 1 generation with the correct legislature, it may go against some peoples human rights but o think it would be worth it.
