Jesus Christ, was he the son of God, or are we all sons of God and Jesus was just a well travelled, good and knowledgeable human being.
I think that is the reason he is predicted to return by so many. Any man can be the next Jesus if he just has the courage and believe me, many have tried throughout the ages. We even have many crucifix's in every town awaiting his arrival. The most devout even wearing them around their neck. Every day there will be another guy claiming himself to be Jesus incarnate. Are all these men Jesus or are none of them. I say none of them because none have fulfilled the prophecy but if one does one day he will indeed be the second Jesus.
The evidence that biblical scholars have for Jesus of Nazareth being who he claims is that he fulfils the prophecies of the Old testament, the other evidence if you want to call it that are his 'miracles' but one thing at a time.
Firstly lets talk about the prophecies. We all know the story of Jesus going into the desert with just his bible reading about the prophecies that he must fulfil, he then went back to town and did exactly that using unknown knowledge he picked up while travelling around Asia and other places. That is why we do not have any records of what Jesus did from a very young age until his 30' when he made his mark on history.
How easy would it be to convince a man in pain that he is cured after administrating a drug such as an opiate before hand. We do not know for how long these people were cured for either. As they say Unknown technology is indistinguishable from magic and that what the local thought he had. I believe that he just learnt alot in his travels and then brought them back to where he was killed. Keep in min there was no internet of telephones back then, There wasn't eve books and nor could the majority of people read so when this knowledgeable man comes around and helps out people with their problems they call him the son of god, especially when he does not deny it and makes sure to follow the prophecy of the old testament which he read religiously (pun intended)
I am certain that if i were to hypothetically jump in a time machine and get transported to the time of Jesus, I would be the one being called the son of God, Could you imagine what the average person of today could go back in time and accomplish with his knowledge of the world. You would be called a prophet from being able to predict things that are common knowledge today, You would 'curing' people left and right with the knowledge you have of today's remedies.
Anyway, in conclusion, I believe that Jesus was a man, a well travelled, knowledgeable, empathetic and good man.
My evidence is from his own mouth, There are not many Quotes from Jesus's actual mouth in the bible but one of them is his last words as he hung, dying on the cross. Do you remember what they were? They were "Father, Why have you forsaken me?" Is this not obvious that Jesus expected God to intervene, hence his last statement when coming to the realisation that he is in fact going to die.
I also believe that if there exists a parallel universe where Jesus did not exist, we would now be a millennia more advanced than we are now as religion has held us back as a species for so many years and only now is starting to lose its grip on the necks of the populace.
Could you imagine they hanged Jesus, would the devout be wearing nooses around their necks awaiting jesus return?
The second Jesus has alot more prophecies to fulfil but they are there, in the bible, written down for him to follow, he would need to have a bit of money to make a few of the new prophecies to come true but would then need to give away his wealth while also making his past unrecoverable. Jesus the first also had a hard time performing his miracles in his own home town where everyone knew who he was.
It will be entertaining to say the least if someone does actually accept the challenge of becoming the next Jesus and succeeds. Unfortunately the people that do accept the challenge always are either not smart enough or do not have the resources to complete the 'Jesus Challenge" Can you imagine the power that the guy who actually completes the challenge would have, Its not too hard to be the next Jesus but it will take many years of dedication, probably even a lifetime.
I wonder what creative way he will be put to death aswell.
I hope i have given you something to think about, To all those that are atheists and choose to ignore all this religious stuff, It is very unwise to ignore our own history. Wether or not you think it is stupid, It happened and is part of our history and the reason we record our own history is so that we can learn from it.
If i have inspired the second coming of Jesus and you need to give away your wealth, JohnnyLegbone knows how to keep his mouth shut
