I think that if people would like the word nigger to dissappear everyone should drop it from their vocabulary. Would you believe this word is never said in Australia. I have never heard it used.
Maybe its because black Africans only started coming here in the last decade, We did not have any before 10 years ago, they are mostly Sudanese seeking asylum atm. When the 'white Australia policy' was dropped in the 70's the east Europeans came first, then the Vietnamese, then Indians and now Sudanese, Funny too that each nationality moves to 1 suburb mostly. My suburb is where the Sudanese have chosen for themselves. The young men who arrive now are finding it a bit hard to integrate but they will get there. Now you know something that will never affect you Would you believe that we have a Mountain called "NiggerHead mountain" lol Australians are a bit different when it comes to racism.
What i do find strange about america is that you all use the suffix 'American" eg , Im an African-American or an Italian-american. Here we are all Australian and if born here we all speak the same. It seems that in America you have different accents even if you are born in the same place but have different skin colour. Is this true or is that just how you are portrayed because you seem to speak well but when i see other black people talk, they talk differently than the other americans, No matter which part you are from.
Another difference i have noticed between us and other countries is accents, Here we have the same accent all over this huge Island and you cannot tell where an Aussie comes from listening to him speak but i can tell the difference between a texan. New Yorker or someone from L.A. England is even worse, The country is as big as my state of victorian and you can tell if someone is from the north or south from the way they speak.
