A few weeks ago i made a veranda for a friend of mines mother in law. It turned out very nice i think. I underestimated the material cost unfortunately but i did make some money allthough not as much as i would have liked. This is the fourth one o have done but this one was made differently than the others. Usually i would Dynabolt a beam to the bricks and then attach it with joists but this house was newer and the bricks did not go as high as i expected so i used rafter brackets that went through the gutters fascia and screw to the rafters (obviously) It turned out very well and will look much better once they have painted ti and dressed it. The angle part is where she plans on putting a fire place, I am assuming it will be a fake one because the smoke will mess up the roof. The clear roof on the sides was her idea to allow more light into her house. What do you think of that? I probably would have alternated them myself, clear then white, clear, white but each to their own. She plans on dressing it with a nicer wood but i think painting will be sufficient. The pink is the undercoat and was purchased that way. The timber used was 180mm X 35mm. The lengths were 6 meters long and i took them on my roof of the car. I drove very slowly but got there in one piece. I wish i had taken a pic Anyway here are some pics. If you are planning on making one yourself, feel free to ask a question and i will try my best to help. Total cost for materials was roughly $2000 AUD Click on link below to see it. imgur.com/a/uph9r
